The Standard for Total Performance Restoration

The early 60s Fairlanes were the heart of Ford's "Total Performance" era. Whether you're restoring a sporty Sports Coupe or a solid Mercury Meteor, the dashboard is the centerpiece of your driving experience. Unfortunately, original factory pads were prone to severe shrinking and cracking around the instrument cluster and speaker areas.

At Just Dashes, we don't just "cover" the damage—we provide a complete, factory-correct reproduction. Our pads are hand-crafted using a high-density foam core and wrapped in our proprietary Coachman Grain vinyl, ensuring your interior looks exactly as it did on the showroom floor in 1962.

The Just Dashes Difference

• Precision Speaker Grille Detail: Engineered for a remarkable fit over the speaker area, maintaining the correct audio acoustics and visual crispness.

Coachman Grain Authenticity: We use the period-correct grain texture to ensure a 100% concours-consistent appearance.

Thermal Stability: Our high-density core and UV-resistant skin are built to withstand the greenhouse heat of classic Ford glass without warping or "pulling" at the edges.

FAQ

Is the speaker grille or metal trim included? No. This is the padded dash only, designed to align perfectly with your original factory speaker grille for a seamless, gap-free look.

What is the difference between the Fairlane and Meteor fitment? While the pads share the same primary architecture, the trim cuts behind the instrument cluster differ slightly between Ford and Mercury models. Our pads are designed to accommodate these variations for a seamless fit.

How do I handle a custom color match? Select the Custom Color variant ($1,195.00). You will need to send a small physical sample of your color to our shop. We use high-end automotive dyes to ensure an exact match to your interior.

Frequently Asked Questions

Color Matching and Painting

  • Where do I send the physical color sample for my dash? Please send your color sample with your order number to: Just Dashes, 5941 Lemona Ave., Van Nuys, CA 91411.
  • Why does Just Dashes request a physical color sample? We request a physical color sample to ensure the color match is exact for your custom dash order. Without this process, we cannot guarantee a correct color match.
  • What type of color sample is required? We ask for a color sample from an interior part of your car that reflects the true, original color. Often, customers provide a strip of vinyl that has been shielded from sun exposure.
  • How large does the color sample need to be? The sample does not need to be large. A piece the size of a quarter is sufficient.

Does the dash require trimming for the intallation process?

Yes! This is a semi-professional grade product, and if you've never done a project like this, we highly recommend enlisting a local upholstery shop to help with the installation. We provide very general installation instructions, but we strongly suggest seeking professional help. And as always, measure twice, cut once.
