SoftCap installs over the existing dashboard and provides a cleaner, padded, OEM-inspired appearance. SoftCap uses padded vinyl with a vehicle-appropriate factory-style grain selected to match or closely resemble the original dash texture.

What This SoftCap Covers

This SoftCap covers the top section of the dash, extending down about one to two inches below the top. That top surface is the part that cracks and splits in the sun, so capping it is what changes how the interior looks from the driver's seat.

Fitment

These cars share the same basic dash. Check your model's years carefully — they are not the same for every model:

• Ford Torino and Gran Torino — 1972-1976
• Ford Ranchero — 1972-1979
• Ford Thunderbird — 1977-1979 only
• Mercury Cougar — 1974-1979
• Mercury Montego — 1972-1976

1972-1976 Thunderbird owners: your car uses a completely different and much larger dash, and this cap does not fit it. No cap is made for it, so a full restoration is the only route — contact us for a quote.

Please confirm your own dash configuration before ordering. Each SoftCap is made to order. If you are not sure your dash matches, send us a photo before ordering and we will confirm it.

Prefer a Full Restoration?

We also fully restore dash pads for most of these cars. A restoration is a different service: you ship us your original dash, we strip it to the frame and rebuild it with new foam and vinyl, and it comes back looking factory fresh. Contact us for a restoration quote if that is a better fit for your project.

SoftCap is not a full dash restoration or replacement dash pad. It is designed to improve the appearance of an existing dashboard. Severe warping, structural damage, or missing dash sections should be reviewed before ordering.
