The Just Dashes SoftCap Dash Cover is a practical interior refresh for 1974 Datsun 260Z and 1975-1978 Datsun 280Z owners who want to improve a cracked, faded, or worn dashboard without the cost, downtime, or shipping risk of a full dash restoration.
S30 Z-car dashes are notorious for cracking across the top and around the gauge pods. Fixing one the traditional way means pulling the dash and taking out roughly 40+ screws on the back side of the metal skeleton frame that holds the pad. SoftCap skips all of that. It goes right over the top of your original dash.
SoftCap has a provision for the dash emblem. The emblem area is inset, and the vinyl wraps down underneath the emblem, so your original badge sits the way it did from the factory instead of on top of an overlay.
Unlike generic hard plastic dash caps, SoftCap uses padded vinyl with a vehicle-appropriate factory-style grain selected to match or closely resemble the original dash texture.
